5 Ways to Maximize Your SEO
Improve your page loading speed
Did you know that if your webpage takes longer than 3 seconds to load it will reduce your google ranking? What causes this to happen? Well, if you have extra large photos on your site or a lot of “heavy” code, that could be the culprit. If your photos are large, you could go to someplace like canva.com to reduce the size/quality of the image. If you have a lot of code, you might have to discuss with your developer on how to get that reduced or sign up for a new host, like squarespace.com for example.
Optimize your links
Having a blog that utilizes external links bringing your audience to other, relevant sites, can really increase your ranking on Google. And, visa versa, having other sites linking to yours will put you higher up in search results.
Encourage sharing on social media
In our minds we know this yet when we make our advertisements our goal isn’t to get shares but to get leads or webpage visits. Create social posts, blog posts, and advertisements with the intention of your audience sharing it, make that the call to action, and watch your ranking rise.
Use keywords appropriately
Of course you know to use your keywords in your content, but did you know you should be using them in your titles and URLs too? And, did you know you should be front loading them? Doing this helps Google to find them faster and more frequently. Be careful overloading your content with keywords because this will actually hurt your ranking!
Get your name out there
Start thinking about how you can get other blogs, podcasts, question & answer sites, interviews, target influencers with your content, position yourself as an expert. If you have a boring niche, figure out a way to make it interesting. The point is we want to get other platforms linking to you and driving traffic to you as much as humanly possible. If you don’t have time to do all of this you could work with a company like PR Serve who has a performance based model.
